Aurora Aksnes is a Norwegian singer and songwriter from Norway. She was born in Stavanger on June 15, 1996. Her professional name is Aurora. Her name could also be stylized as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves is an album released in May 2015 from Decca Records. It has received a lot of praise from blogs and the press. Half the World Away - by Oasis is a cover for John Lewis' Christmas ad and Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole - are already two of the most notable covers the singer has created. She was fascinated by the possibilities it offered. She began writing lyrics of her own. Her influences include renowned writer Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan and her love of Bjork's style. When her mother told her that the songs she composed were not meant to gain fame for her rather to help people to see the value of themselves and their impact to this world, she began playing them on stage. Her mother suggested that she be able to perform her music publicly in order in order to make people aware of their own importance and how they could impact the world. It was not until she turned 14 when she shared her story with her parents. It was never a dream to become Aurora. She claims that she enjoys composing music.
